Ice cream review: Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch gelato

Ice cream review by John
Score: 4.5 out of 5 scoops
Company: Talenti

Talenti is one of those companies of which I've yet to find a flavor I didn't like. The Caramel Cookie Crunch gelato is no exception. It's not quite a perfect ice cream, thus only 4.5 out of 5 stars, but it's pretty darn delicious.

The main part of this sweet treat is made up chocolate cookie ice cream with which most of us are familiar in one brand or another; there's lots of vanilla ice cream with bits of chocolate cookie pieces tossed in here and there. But right here is the only real complaint I have about this particular ice cream, that there's not enough of the broken cookies. There's plenty of the vanilla ice cream, and its an excellent, smooth vanilla, but I felt the cookie part was lacking. Maybe it was just the particular batch I tried.

The second part of Talenti's Caramel Cookie Crunch gelato is the creamy caramel swirl that rolls through all that vanilla and chocolate cookies. Think Milky Way candy bear caramel, or better yet soft Godiva caramel. Only better. I wouldn't quite say the caramel here is the best I've ever had, but boy it comes close. Also, this is not an overly rich or sweet caramel, but just right.

If you've not tried Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch, or any other Talenit flavors, because of the prices (yes, it's kinda pricey) then you are doing yourself a disservice. Yes, times are tight, but don't cheat yourself by not trying some Talenti.
